Armidale is the hub of New England’s high country, located half way between Sydney and Brisbane, and two hours inland, Armidale sits at 1,000 meters above sea level. Armidale is the home to the University of New England and is surrounded by rich pastoral lands, national parks, gorges and rainforests. The Anaiwan people are the traditional owners of the land in Armidale.
Armidale’s strengths lie in its educational, agricultural, retail, government and professional services, and it is these industry sectors plus an emerging digital sector that provide vital employment for a significant portion of the local labour force. Armidale Family Day Care is committed to ensuring that families working in these sectors have access to high quality child care which meets the needs of their children.
Armidale Family Day Care was established in 1983 by a forward thinking management committee that identified the need for flexible, affordable child care to meet the work and study needs of our community’s families. Over the ensuing 39 years, Armidale Family Day Care has continued to be held in high regard as a high quality, reliable childcare option; we enjoy a great reputation as a provider of education and care for children aged 0-13.
In the last 22 years alone, Armidale Family Day Care has provided 95 local child care professionals with the opportunity to establish a profitable, home based business and giving them ongoing support and assistance. For some Educators, their period of registration has been limited to the years when their own children were in the home, others have continued their registration for over 30 years.
Family Day Care is one of the most popular child care choices in Armidale; we register and support professional early childhood Educators who deliver family day care, before and after school care and vacation care from their home-based premises.
Armidale Family Day Care Educators’ home based environment provides families with the opportunity to place non-school aged children and school aged children into care together when they need to, an important consideration when families need after school care and vacation care.
